When individuals turn to look at their diet it will be for one of two reasons:
1. To have a healthy life style and prevent diseases
- They already have a health condition and are looking for dietary health to help resolve the problem
There is a fundamental difference in these two approaches and the second always has a sense of urgency about it.
Many people’s starting point is to accept they have a gluten problem. This is a good start and I have included a page on gluten free bread recipes here
There is so much written about diet and nutrition and there are some many diseases, how can there be one diet that’s the best to go for? What is the common factor between IBS, candida, cancers, anklosing spondylitis, fibromyalgia, arthritis, eczema, depression, ADHD, Autism, infertility and many more conditions?
Starting with my homeopathic experience with Autism and then looking at all these other conditions, a happy gut is essential to long term progress towards health.
The homeopath already has a range of remedies that can be used very effectively for gut problems, including the bowel nosodes but even then, if the gut is not happy it is a big maintaining cause and will interfere with progress of other well chosen remedies
What foods does the gut find difficult to digest?
Certainly modern processed foods and processed ingredients are a big problem. Factory farmed animals and moncultureintensive farm results in low prices but much damage to the environment and very little in the way of good healthy food.
Even if you source all your food as organic there are still things inhernetin food that Humans find difficult. Many of our vegetables have a an an ezyme like proteins called LECTINS. These lectins are often impossible to diggest and so if its not possible to remove them in the preparation process they can cause us at least dsicomfort and often great harm. Gluten is one of these proteins.
In a healthy person consideration of limiting Lectins is wise but in a person with a chrocin or life threatening condition they need to be drastically reduced. The article here on cancer diets woudl also apply to anyone with a serious chronic illness
